Psalm 5:3 - Expectant Prayer (Devotions)
Psalm 5:3 (New Living Translation)
"Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly."
We can pray silently, when it's not possible to pray aloud... like when others are carrying on a conversation or carrying for a patient.
But there are times to pray aloud to God: During private devotions, or maybe while driving the car.
David prayed aloud in the morning. "Early in the morning, our song shall rise to Thee."
And then he would wait on God.
This isn't like waiting in the doctor's office where you try to find a magazine from eight months ago that might have something interesting -- while you hope you're not catching something from the person coughing right across from you.
No, this kind of waiting is like when you're expecting a family member to call your phone with good news, but you keep at your daily tasks--waiting to hear the ringtone, expecting to hear the sound of a familiar voice.
Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. Amen.
