1 Peter 5:7 - The Primary Caregiver

People in a medical care facility are there for one of two reasons:
The first is that they are a patient (or resident) there.
The second is that they are caring for the patients or residents.

Maybe they do this directly, as doctors, nurses, or aides. }
Maybe they do this indirectly as support staff... but still contributing to the health and welfare of patients or residents.
Maybe--if there isn't a quarantine--it's family or friends, contributing to someone's care by visiting them. Or perhaps they do so via phone or other means.

They all have something in common: they care about someone else. Even those confined to their room or their bed may carry concern for loved ones they've left at home.

It's easy for healthy concern and care about other people to become a worry or a burden. Consider, then,
1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (King James Version)

God is the one who cares for all of us, first and foremost. When we have concern for others, when we care about them and when we care for them, we are simply tapping into the care that God already shows to them. We don't need to carry the burden of being the Primary Caregiver; He has that under control.

Father in heaven, each of us has plenty of cares and concerns... and ultimately they usually involve people. Give us rest in the fact that You care for all of us first, and You care for us best. Give us wisdom and strength to be instruments of Your care in the lives of others today.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
