Psalm 147:16-8 - Who changed the thermostat?

I'm sure my daughter's family in Arizona is thinking that their 58F tonight is "too cold."
Meanwhile, our furnace in northern Iowa is fighting an outside temperature of -4F... dropping to -20F by the weekend.
(The picture is from two days ago: heat wave of -2F. Dante is supposed to be a Golden Doodle; I think he's part Siberian husky.)

The change of seasons reminds us of God's faithfulness,* but this is more than a light dusting of snow to tell us it's winter!

The Psalmist says this about the biting cold:
"[God] sends the snow like white wool; he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes.
He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold?"

(Psalm 147:16–17, New Living Translation)

God doesn't send subfreezing temperature to prove He can do it; He just does it.
Science holds a thermometer; God sets the thermostat.

"Then, at his command, it all melts. He sends his winds, and the ice thaws."
(Psalm 147:18, NLT)

Lord, use even the subzero weather to remind us that when the world seems to be wildly out of control, You are still in control. Amen.
PS - We wouldn't mind some warmer weather. Soon.
