Psalm 71:15 - The Most Important Thing You Can Say Today
"I
will tell everyone about your righteousness. All day long I will
proclaim your saving power, though I am not skilled with words." (Psalm 71:15, New Living Translation)
This
comes from a very well-written Psalm, part of the inspired scriptures.
So it's rather ironic that the author says he is "not skilled with
words."
Nevertheless, it reminds us: It doesn't matter how much
education you have. It doesn't matter if you have a speech impediment or
poor grammar. If you know about the goodness of God, you can tell
anyone and everyone about it.
The picture above is entitled "Two
Women Picking Grapes," painted in 1862 by Jules Breton. They could be
talking about that year's harvest. They could be talking about the
weather. Maybe they are discussing something more serious like a
romance... or a heartbreak.
We talk about any number of things
during the day. Much of it is related to our work. But we find time to
talk about a lot more than work.
"All day long I will proclaim your saving power, though I am not skilled with words."
God, You have answered our prayers in the past. You've answered prayers that we were to distracted to even pray! Loosen our tongues to tell the people we see today about the goodness you've shown us. Amen.
